My First PUKY
First adventures on wheels
Pukylino or Wutsch are the ideal vehicles for introducing young children to mobility. However, these vehicles are primarily designed for indoor use. Children who have never sat on a ride-on vehicle initially tend to pull themselves close to the handlebars (which they hold onto for safety).
By doing so, they intuitively shift their balance forward towards the steering axle and can tip over the front axle if they ride into an obstacle with momentum. For this reason, we advise against mounting a handlebar basket on these vehicles.
The weight of the basket and its forward extension negatively influence this effect. Instead, we recommend the PUKY handlebar bag LT3 for these ride-on vehicles. It is available in many fashionable colors and can be easily attached with Velcro.
The Inseam Length is the Key to the Right Balance Bike or Bicycle Size!
The inseam length, also known as inseam height or inner leg length, is crucial for your child's optimal seating position on a balance bike or bicycle. It must be in the correct proportion to the saddle height. (More on this: The Right Balance Bike Size / The Right Bicycle Size)
That's why we at Puky always specify the recommended inseam height along with the frame size for children's balance bikes and bicycles. This way, you can quickly and easily find the right balance bike or bicycle for your child.
Measuring Inseam Length in 3 Steps
Here's how to easily measure your child's inseam length:
- Have your child stand against a wall with their shoes on.
- Place a book between their legs with the horizontal top edge snug in the crotch.
- Measure the distance from the top edge of the book to the floor using a tape measure or ruler.
The measured value in centimeters is the inseam length or inseam height. You can use this value to determine the appropriate size for your child's balance bike or bicycle on our website.
